Achievers Counselling for Master

We assist foreign students to process an application for a Master's Degree of their choice at a German university. We assist students with the placement both in German-taught Master's programmes as well as Master's degrees taught in English language.

Application Procedure – Our Service

You send us legalised copies of both the original transcripts from your home country (school certificates including all grades sheets) and the German or English translation of the same, curriculum vitae, application for university studies filled-in and signed, passport copy and 3 passport photos.
We will have the academic transcripts from your home country pre-checked by our partner university
You receive a conditional offer for the chosen Master's degree with a confirmation of the language requirements you will need to fulfill
You can apply for the student visa.

University Placement Counselling – Our Service

Once you have reached B1 level in our German course, you will participate in a seminar on Studying in Germany
You are welcome to make use of our individual university placement counselling service
Here we develop a personal itinerary together with you and we will instruct you regarding concrete steps for the procedure as well as useful application strategies

Requirements for Master

In order to study a Master's degree at a German university, overseas students must first fulfill certain requirements. This includes both the academic records from the student's home country as well the language requirements as stipulated by the German university for entrance to the Master's programme.

Most Master's degrees are taught in German language in Germany. The German universities, however, are internationalising rapidly and an increasing amount of degrees are being offered in English language too. For for many of these courses, however, there may also be some German language requirements.

The Master's Degree builds on the foundation laid by the Bachelor's. As a rule it will take 4 semesters (sometimes 3) to complete a Master's Degree. All new accredited Master's degrees are recognised throughout the whole of Europe.

Students who aspire to delve into studies at a higher level than Bachelor's, in pursuit of an academic career, for instance, or in order to specialise in a particular field, may apply for a Master's programme which is also a requirement if you wish to do a PhD later on.

In accordance with the Europe-wide Bologna process, consecutive Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes as well as the ECTS system will be introduced consistently at all German universities and universities of applied sciences by the year 2010. All of the accredited new Bachelor's degrees will be recognised throughout Europe.

Some special entrance requirements may be demanded for Master's Degreesapplicants, such as a minimum average grade at Bachelor's level, a particular area of specialisation etc.

There are two different kinds of Master's degrees in Germany:

Consecutive Master's degree which follows on from and builds onto the Bachelor's degree. The consecutive Master's degree can - provided that the area of specialisation remains the same - may be chosen as an interdisciplinary course. The degree titles obtainable are for instance Master of Arts (M.A.), Master of Science (M.Sc.), Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) and Master of Laws (LL.M.).
Non-consecutive Master's degrees these also include professional degrees such as Master of Business Administration (MBA) where the student is required to gather work experience before applying

Requirements for Bachelor

The academic transcripts from the home country of foreign students are pre-checked by the universities according to the criteria of the Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAB). Following this, an assessment is made on the candidate's eligibility for entrance (HZB) into German universities.

Candidates without eligibility Foreign students applying for German university who do not possess the eligibility for entrance (HZB) for a German university, must first visit a private Higher secondary school in Germany in order to obtain this qualification.

Eligibility for Indirect University EntranceApplicants who have successfully completed 12 years of school education but have not yet studied at a university in their home country which is recognised in Germany, are often eligible only for indirect university entrance in Germany. They must complete the 10-month Foundation Course related to their chosen course of study and take the final assessment examination (FSP). Subsequently they may apply directly for a Bachelor's programme at a university or university of applied sciences.

Eligibility for Direct University EntranceApplicants who have successfully completed 13 years of school education and those who have studied at a university in their home country which is recognised in Germany for either 2 or 4 semesters (depending on the country) qualify, as a rule, for direct entrance to German university. They may apply directly for a Bachelor's programme at a university or university of applied sciences.

Bachelor in Germany

A Bachelor's degree is the first academic degree and professional qualification. The objective is to empower students for a professional career. As a rule Bachelor's degrees last for 6 semesters (in some cases 7). Bachelor's studies tend to offer course modules which are strongly related to specific career paths. In addition to technical knowledge, methodological skills and so-called leadership competencies are also taught.

Leadership competencies are understood to be interdisciplinary and cross-professional qualifications, mindsets, know-how components and strategies which are advantageous for problem-solving and in the acquisition of additional competencies. The methodological skills are understood to be the tools of the trade needed to put these competencies into practice in any given situation, such as research skills, time-management etc.

In accordance with the European-wide Bologna Process, consecutive Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes as well as the ECTS system will be introduced across the board at all German universities and universities of applied sciences by the year 2010. All of the accredited new Bachelor's degrees will be recognised throughout Europe.

Depending on the course of study chosen either a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) or a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) is awarded. German synonymic terms such as Bakkalaureus der Wissenschaftenare also possible.
